Dance, fine arts, music, film, literature... MIP is a festival "made in Potsdam". Every year fabrik Potsdam and the Kunstraum present new productions and works by artists who are connected to Potsdam and the Brandenburg region, who have always lived and worked here, or who are guests as artists-in-residence for only a short time. Choreographers from Canada such as Émile Pineault are part of the programme, as are dancers from Germany, Poland and Brazil (Maren Strack, Clément Layes, Deufert&Plischke, Anita Twarowska and Murillo Basso). This year, many productions have in common that they play with materials. Thus Emile Pineault transforms the stage into a pink fabric landscape in which the bodies can be redefined in a soft environment, Clément Layes presents a box in ONONON as the starting point for surprising actions and Maren Strack dedicates herself to the material air, which she tests and exhibits in a fan-breath composition.
In recent years, the focus of the Made in Potsdam exhibitions has been on the contemporary art production of the city. Also in 2020, the exhibition in the Waschhaus Kunstraum presents new works by local artists* (until 02.02.20).
