I teach... creative dance for children and Contemporary dance.
I dance because... it gives me many opportunities to find out something new about myself, my body and my soul. Dancing brings me a lot of joy and gives me a lot of space to express myself.
I pay special attention to ... the playing surface, different qualities of movement, principles and dynamics. The connection between movement, music, space, time and other bodies is also important to me.
The song ... Dobbin's Flowery Vale by Finnish a cappella group "Rajaton" always gets me moving.
I have learned a lot from....everyone who accompanied me on my dance path. All this has formed me physically, mentally and artistically to what I am today as a dancer, teacher and choreographer. On my way I am constantly developing myself further. I am looking forward to new impulses, instructions and experiences, which are still to come.
The best place to dance is for me... a bright studio with a beautiful floor and lots of sunlight. Dancing in a public place and outdoors in nature inspires me as well.
A key moment in dancing was for me... when I started to focus more on improvisation and free movement. I learned to appreciate what is created in that very moment.
To my students I want to pass on... the joy of dancing, good physical perception and the feeling that our bodies have many possibilities and that there is always something new to discover. I also want to pass on the fact that own creativity and imagination are important and that every idea can be danced.
I look forward to this every year... the smiling faces of my little participants, who are so free and creative when dancing. I also look forward to every change of season, when it gets bright, colourful, green, white, cold or warm again. They give a nice rhythm and variety for the whole year.
