Artistic commitment & working spaces

The fabrik Potsdam - International Center for Dance and Movement Art - is both a house for professional dancers and dance companies as well as a place, for all who want to see, understand and experience dance.

Dance performances by young dancers and worldwide renown choreographers, the residency program, the Potsdamer Tanztage as a yearly International Festival for Contemporary Dance, workshops and regular classes for bodywork and dance (for amateurs, professionals, children, and adults) form the profile of the fabrik Potsdam.

The fabrik Potsdam is a place, where dance is explored, produced and communicated. The Artists in Residence program gives artists the chance to work on new ideas on and about dance. These are often the starting point for the development of new concepts for productions, teaching methods, techniques and more. The making of dance pieces is also an important part of the fabrik Potsdam's mission. Artists are given space to realize their ideas and the fabrik supports them wherever possible.

The theater, the café, the garden, and studios 1 & 2 (Studiohaus) are well equipped for guests with mobility restrictions. The detailed information on accessibility can be found here.

Artistic approach

fabrik Potsdam's vision provides artists a place to work, learn, teach, research, rehearse, perform, and interact with other artists and the community. It also provides artists a place where they experience freedom, utilize resources, and are part of an international network. This vision makes available to the community a place, where it comes in contact with dance, in every aspect. Here discourse, involvement, and exchange, seeing, experiencing, learning, and enjoying are all parts of the artistic experience.
