Afrikan Party

A Street Dance Show from Africa's Future | Supa Rich Kids / Oulouy (Spanien/Elfenbeinküste/Nigeria)

26 – 29 Dec 2023Dance / performance

Afrikan Party is a futuristic ode to Africa, a celebration of its diverse and amazing cultures. Through the story of a child born in 2090 and raised in the United States of Afrika, Afrikan Party narrates the african lifestyle, music and fashion through the prism of a young perso. A world rich of its thousands of cultures, traditions, and rituals that connects him to the past, present and future. It is a celebration of life, highlighting each milestone of the journey from birth till death – a testimonial of what we can do when people come together. The four dancers of Supa Rich Kids from Nigeria and Ivory Coast combine their different dance and cultural backgrounds in a colourful and humorous celebration of urban dance.

Born in Ivory Coast and based in Barcelona for the last decades, Oulouy combines his facet as a dancer, choreographer and artistic director, with his educational activity, giving masterclasses all over the world. In 2022, Oulouy received a nomination at the XXIV Catalan Critic Awards for Performing Arts and another for the Dansacat Awards in the category of best dancer of the year. He is founder and curator of OYOFE International Festival dedicated to street dances.
