with Laura Heinecke & Company (Potsdam/Freiburg)

15 – 22 Nov 2021 | Artists in residenceDance and movement

Within the current research project of Laura Heinecke & Company, the meaning and effect of vibrations is explored in a dialogue of dance and science. How can the findings of vibration theory be transferred to dance? Within the workshops, together with Odile Seitz, we will deal with oscillations and vibrations from the perspective of Body-Mind Centering®.

"Vibration is the underlying phenomenon of rhythmically condensing and spreading waves that permeate our universe" - Bonnie Bainbridge-Cohen.

The subject matter is offered here under aspects of three different themes to address different aspects of vibration and explore them in movement. In further workshops, under the guidance of Jo Koppe, vibrations in one's own body will be explored with the help of the somatic method Continuum. Continuum is a somatic method for self-exploration that allows us to consciously experience our aliveness as a constantly unfolding and changing process. With the help of breath, voice and (micro) movements, the body is made tangible as a living process.

Through extreme slowing down and curious, open interest in our sensations, we learn to perceive and accompany countless details of our physical and emotional system without judgment. The body can meet itself, stalled elements can come back into flow.

Workshop 1
15.11.2021 10:00-13:00 - Continuum

In this introduction we will learn the principles of the practice and how sound, vibration and breath affect different structures in the body and stimulate self-regulation.

Workshop 2
16.11.2021 14:30-17:30 - BMC® - Vibration as the first movement pattern

Through vibration we experience attraction and repulsion, like the undulations of ebb and flow. Connection and release are experienced, as well as basic communication through eternal movement and change, overlapping and spiraling as an expression of unity and continuity.

Workshop 3
11/17/2021 2:30pm-5:00pm - Continuum.

This session focuses attention on all the rhythms and "frequencies" that occur regularly in our bodies - such as heartbeat, breath, craniosacral flow, sleep/wake rhythm, etc.

Workshop 4
18.11.2021 14:30-17:30 - BMC® - The resonance as a field of the fascia tissue

Fascia is the largest sense organ of the body. With their fluid and elastic quality, they are the vector of movement from one body part to the next, but also from one organ to the next. From one cell to the next. They store movement patterns and habits, experiences and emotions. They are the source of adaptation and change in connection with the personal inner world and the environment. They reflect the interactions of one's vibrational field with space, time, others. They are the essence of attention.

Workshop 5
19.11.2021 10:00-13:00 - BMC® - The magnetic field of the heart.

"One sees well only with the heart". This sentence by Antoine de St Exupéry proves much more than what has long been thought about the heart. The electric field of the heart is 60 times stronger than that of the brain and the magnetic field even 500-5000. This electro-magnetic field transmits information in interpersonal communication. This innate ability for wordless exchange plays an important role in awareness and important aspects of empathy and sensitivity to others. Movement and specific attention to the heart tissue support the exploration of its vibrational power.

Workshop 6
11/22/2021 10:00am-1:00pm - Continuum.

Here the focus is on the heart, which with its strong electromagnetic field has an effect far beyond the boundaries of our body.
