The fabrik's YouthDanceCompany is aimed at young advanced dancers who are curious and want to dive deeper into contemporary dance and take themselves to the stage. In weekly group training, the members of the company learn different approaches, forms and techniques of contemporary dance, improvisation and choreography. They rehearse their own sequences and develop pieces for the stage together. Giulia del Balzi's regular training is supplemented by workshops with various international and local dance teachers and choreographers.
Furthermore, the members of the YouthDanceCompany attend performances of dance pieces at the fabrik and exchange ideas with local and international artists about their work.
Training
Fridays, 17:00–19:00
In-depth training in the holiday periods by arrangement. As a member of the company, you should attend the training sessions regularly and plan to be a member for at least one school year.
About Giulia
Giulia Del Balzi has been working as a dance teacher at the fabrik Potsdam for several years and has led various dance projects with children and young people as a dance facilitator.
She completed her training as a dancer in Italy. She danced for the Junior Balletto di Toscana and Anhaltisches Theater Dessau before settling in Berlin as a freelance dance teacher and choreographer.
Performances
The JugendtanzCompany also regularly shows its skills on the stage of the fabrik and others. In July 2023 the dancers of the company were part of the dance evening ZwischenSpiel at the fabrik and will present their work in the context of KULTUR FÜR JEDE*N! in September 2023. On Nov 25 + 26, 2023 we are looking forward to their contribution to the showing Ready to show! of the fabrik potsdam.
