Ska-T

Ska, Punk, Ragga

12 Sep 2025 | Sound(g)arten 2025Open air concert

Around the turn of the millennium, Ska-T were among the most well-known and innovative ska-punk bands in Germany. From the Harz region, they made their way to Leipzig, Berlin, Potsdam, and beyond: between 1997 and 2007, they played hundreds of concerts, toured half a dozen countries, made thousands of dance-hungry fans sweat, sang with Udo Lindenberg on the Rockpalast stage, and most of all, had a blast. “That’s not ska,” some grumbled. “That’s not punk,” others complained. “They sit between the chairs and land comfortably in the armchair,” wrote the music press. Those “chairs” were mainly ska, punk, and ragga – but also nu metal, hip hop, and reggae offered seats, all delivered in an energetic live show fronted by two vocalists. Reunited since 2021, they’re older, more experienced, different – but the chemistry is still there. Ska-T have stripped things down and are fresher than ever.
