AMAZZONI

In AMAZZONI, Silvia Gribaudi revisits the ancient Greek myth of the Amazons - the legendary warrior women who are regarded as a threat to the patriarchal order. She develops a work about bodies, power, and community, deliberately intertwining strength and humour.

Silvia Gribaudi is one of Italy’s most distinctive choreographers and is renowned for her precise use of humour. Through exaggeration, disruption, and self-irony, she exposes social attributions and opens up new perspectives. In AMAZZONI, five female performers move between strength and vulnerability, resisting clearly defined roles. Following her performance R. OSA at the fabrik Potsdam in March 2026, Gribaudi returns with a work that offers fresh perspectives on history, gender, and social order.

Silvia Gribaudi is an Italian choreographer whose work unfolds at the intersection of dance, theatre and humour. Since 2004, she has explored the social impact of the body, playfully redefining the relationship between audience and performer. At the heart of her artistic practice lies a strong focus on human connection, dialogue and poetic encounters. Developed in close collaboration with artists and communities, her performances combine virtuosity with irony and warmth. Her internationally touring works have received numerous awards. Gribaudi is associated artist at Le Gymnase CDCN (2024-26) and at the Teatro Stabile di Torino - Teatro Nazionale (2025-27).
