JazzLab – Animal Music

Mit MOLE – Schulze/Borges/Beierbach | Nicolas Schutze & Guests

20 Jun 2026 | JazzLabConcert

JazzLab opens in 2026 with a concert by the brand-new trio MOLE. MOLE blurs the boundaries between free improvisation and composition. On its wanderings, it shamelessly poaches from the garden of genres, like a hyperactive mole in its prime. In doing so, the trio manages the feat of striking a balance between dissonant clusters, harmonious melodies, groove and the dissolution of the very same.

The two Berliners in the group – drummer Sofia Borges and saxophonist Alexander Beierbach – as well as Potsdam-based pianist Nicolas Schulze are all active in various ensembles and, in this line-up, mark another important point on the map of jazz in Germany.

After the concert, as always at the Jazzlab, the stage opens up for the Open Stage!

MOLE - Schulze/Borges/Beierbach
Alexander Beierbach - tenor & soprano saxophone
Nicolas Schulze - piano
Sofia Borges - drums, percussion
