Spring Is Possible

UNIDRAM 2026 | bodybody (Belgien)

07 Nov 2026Music performance

An empty, square stage with an integrated chalk circle, within which a concertante dance performance gradually unfolds: four players perform a cathartic ritual that oscillates wildly between an electric guitar, a drum set, the vocal power of a soprano and the trancelike movements of a dancer. Percussive at times, at times repetitive, but always rousing, light and energetic, the eclectic soundscapes of Spring Is Possible’ are equally inspired by Anna Meredith, David Byrne and Igor Stravinsky. The electrifying, pulsating sounds of opera, techno and pop melt into a single, unifying whole.

Dag Taeldeman and Andrew Van Ostade’s company, bodybody, represents an energetic symbiosis of concert, dance and physical theatre. In its productions, the duo, which has already composed music for various theatre productions and films, creates interdisciplinary soundscapes that use anything from techno beats to opera-like arias. In close cooperation with the choreographer Matteo Sedda and the soprano Lies Vandewege, the collective develops ritual performances with a cathartic effect. In their internationally celebrated works, they transform the stage into a space for remarkable performative concerts.
