Générations was born following another piece by Fabrice Ramalingom, in which two men, a young man and an old man, confronted themselves. His desire is to push the question of intergenerational relations further. Often it is a struggle of opposing characters: knowledge, experience, and majesty for one; ardour, innocence, and explosion for the other. This confrontation is more peaceful here; the two dancers offer the best of themselves while trying to move the other. Between these two bodies, there is a third, invisible body: that of the choreographer. He is the link between the two and must find his place without being present. With Générations, Fabrice Ramalingom questions the passage of time: How to live with what one is, is no longer, and is not yet?
