Working with live music, this workshop explores the immediate and complementary relationship between sound/music and dance, aiming to refine dancers’ sense of timing and deepen the clarity and quality of the movement. Through instant composition techniques, we will learn how to use the body within different space-time frames to create performances in real-time. Roberta Ricci is a Berlin-based Italian dancer, choreographer, and teacher. Ranging from meticulously choreographed to instant compositions, the interplay between dance, music, and sound is an essential part of her work. Francesco Ghirlanda is a drummer and music teacher. His work revolves around jazz as well as exploring improvisation within a framework that integrates musical language with dance.
