This workshop is based on a practice that Stephanie Kayal developed throughout her ongoing technical and creative research. Taking the floor as a departure point, it will focus on the connections within stillness, movement, and the vastness of possibilities and dynamics in between, while examining the potential of the pelvis and the function of the limbs. By visiting themes from her current work-in-progress “Galactic Crush”, such as superpowers, anti-hero and metamorphosis, it will give space to dramatize every detail by moving gradually from one position in space to another, allowing dormant patterns and playful qualities in movement to be revealed. At the end, participants will be encouraged to render the tools acquired during the workshop into improvisations.
On Friday 13.05 Stephanie Kayal will show a work-in-progress of her new artistic work "Galactic Crush" at the Rechenzentrum. A previous registration per mail is mandatory.
