FLÖKT – a flickering flow

Can we experience a dance performance in the same way we experience a waterfall? In FLÖKT, the stage is covered by a huge silk dome – bright and light. A world seems to be hidden beneath it and FLÖKT invites the audience to a journey inside a poetic miniature of the world. Conceived as visual and performative art, the piece suggests that nature is not something that exists solely outside of someone but also something that can be sensed and experienced through the body. FLÖKT is a partly visible and partly invisible dance between bodies, materials, sound, space, and atmosphere, in which the immediate and small play the main roles. With it, and in collaboration with Icelandic visual artist Tinna Ottesen, Bára Sigfúsdóttir continues her work on the connection between humans and nature, inspired by an ongoing dialogue with the Icelandic environmental philosopher Guðbjörg R. Jóhannesdóttir.
